New Zealand Art Inspired by Place, Nature & Belonging
Inspired by the ever-changing beauty of New Zealand, my artwork explores the coast, landscapes, native birds and flora of Aotearoa. Through layers of colour, light and texture, I capture the character of the places that inspire me and the sense of connection they create.
Based in Auckland, I work primarily in acrylic, creating contemporary paintings that draw on the natural world and the details that often go unnoticed. I'm particularly interested in the patterns, colours and changing light found in our landscapes, from familiar shorelines and peaceful beaches to native bush and the birds and plants that bring it to life.
For me, painting is a way of exploring our connection with nature and the places we hold close. Each piece tells a story of place, memory and belonging, with the hope that it might evoke a feeling or memory of your own.
